After flying high against the Abbeville Panthers last Friday, the Saluda Tigers came back down to earth. Saluda fell 46-36 to the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Saluda was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Newberry can attribute much of their success to Faith Grey, who scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that Grey scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Za'Kiera Ruff, who scored nine points.
Saluda's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Newberry, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saluda will square off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ninety Six focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Newberry, they will head out on the road to face off against the Rebels at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Mid-Carolina is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
