The Sultana Sultans lost against the Oak Hills Bulldogs back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Sultana took a 35-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Hills. While losing is never fun, Sultana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Oak Hills is ranked 46th).
LaMason Waller and Jacob Higgs, Sultana certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Waller picked up 186 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Higgs threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns. Waller's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards.
Sultana has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Oak Hills, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sultana will take on Hesperia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Hills, they will stay at home for another week and welcome Burroughs at 7:00 p.m. on October 26th. Burroughs comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
