The Lawrence Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Gobles 44-40. Lawrence has not had much luck with Gobles recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Lawrence lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ben McCaw. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. McCaw hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Christian Smith, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Lawrence has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Gobles, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cassopolis at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Cassopolis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Gobles, they will head out on the road to take on Coloma at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
