They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 77-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game two weeks ago (58), St. John's/Tipton Catholic still had to take the loss.
St. John's/Tipton Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Koevin Schroeder, who scored 14 points along with six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schroeder has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Winkler, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Even though they lost, St. John's/Tipton Catholic were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
St. John's/Tipton Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Osborne, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John's/Tipton Catholic will take on Bennington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bennington and St. John's/Tipton Catholic are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. Osborne won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sylvan-Lucas on January 20th. Sylvan-Lucas will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Osborne is ranked 94th).
