Basketball Recap: Ryan Clifton Key Part of a Team Effort in Red Hawks Win

Calaveras was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Linden on Tuesday. The Calaveras Red Hawks blew past the Linden Lions 59-33. The Red Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calaveras to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Clifton, who went 7 of 11 en route to 19 points along with eight assists and four steals. That's the most assists Clifton has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Pedersen, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 17 points.

Calaveras has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Linden, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calaveras will challenge Riverbank at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Riverbank: they have been struggling with nine straight losses at home, while Calaveras has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Linden, they will venture away from home to square off against Big Valley Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
