The Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons will take on the Cypress Lake Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cypress Lake took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Charlotte, who comes in off a win.
Charlotte's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Lakewood Ranch 10-0. Considering the Fightin' Tarpons have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Bradyn Williams tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Charlotte got a massive performance out of Luke Wadsworth, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Wadsworth a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Ellsworth, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Charlotte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Cypress Lake came up short against Island Coast on Friday, falling 9-3. The Panthers have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meetings.
Cypress Lake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Skaggs, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Charlotte has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. Cypress Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Charlotte has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cypress Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Charlotte took their win against Cypress Lake in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 9-1. Does Charlotte have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cypress Lake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
