The Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles won against the Magruder Colonels last Tuesday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Seneca Valley blew past Magruder, posting a 53-25 win on the road. Given Seneca Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Magruder is ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Seneca Valley to victory were Brielle Watson and Jayden Addison. Watson dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Addison scored 16 points along with four steals. Addison is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Destiny Smith was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three blocks and two steals.
Seneca Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Magruder, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Seneca Valley will be playing at home against Whitman at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Whitman is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Magruder, they will head out on the road to take on Walter Johnson at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Walter Johnson will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
