Softball Recap: Carroll Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Carroll, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They blew past the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights 14-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Aleah Savoie and Olivia Schroder did most of the damage at the plate: Savoie scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Schroder scored two runs while going 1-for-1. What's more, Schroder posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Serenity DeBoard, who scored two runs while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Carroll always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lafayette Central Catholic only posted an OBP of .286.

The victory got Carroll back to even at 3-3. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Carroll will host Frontier at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they will face off against Twin Lakes at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
