The East Jordan Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They lost to Boyne City at home by a decisive 53-37 margin. While losing is never fun, East Jordan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Boyne City is ranked 192nd).
Korbyn Russell and Ryder Malpass certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Russell scored 16 points, while Malpass scored 11 points.
East Jordan has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Boyne City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Jordan will take on Grayling at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. East Jordan is facing Grayling at the right time seeing as Grayling is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Boyne City, they will head out on the road to challenge Gaylord at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
