The Chapel Hill Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the East Chapel Hill Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Chapel Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Chapel Hill came out on top against Hillside on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run third inning. The Tigers put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 15-1 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Alexandra (Kes) Duncan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Chapel Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, East Chapel Hill had just enough and edged out Riverside-Durham 9-8 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
McKenna White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered eight runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tesla Goldstein, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Anna Grabowski, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Chapel Hill's record now sits at 7-11. As for East Chapel Hill, their record is now 9-6.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Chapel Hill has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. However, it's not like East Chapel Hill struggles in that department as they've averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chapel Hill might still be hurting after the 12-4 defeat they got from East Chapel Hill in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
