The Fresno Christian Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took down Sierra 48-34. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Fresno Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Stotts, who threw for 309 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Stotts is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last eight games he's played. Joshua Kubota did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 210 receiving yards.
Several Chieftains players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tanner Forrester, who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Gage Hamilton also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Fresno Christian's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Sierra, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Fresno Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Orcutt Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Orcutt Academy and Fresno Christian are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Sierra, they will head out on the road to face off against Alpaugh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alpaugh will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Sierra is ranked ninth).
