Burke scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Moore scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Meanwhile, while Rocky Bayou Christian put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Pensacola. The Knights were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Tigers. The Knights have beaten the Tigers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.
Audra Morgan made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Morgan was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Skyler Dill-Langley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. Savannah Braswell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
West Florida Baptist Academy's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, their record is now 10-4.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Florida Baptist Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .473. However, it's not like Rocky Bayou Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went West Florida Baptist Academy's way against Rocky Bayou Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as West Florida Baptist Academy made off with an 18-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Conquerors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
