Discovery was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lakeland apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Zakharia Rutledge went supernova for Lakeland, scoring 31 points along with 9 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Rutledge has scored at least 25% of Lakeland's points. Another player making a difference was T'shyri Evans, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds.
Discovery's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lakeland, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Discovery will square off against Mulberry at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeland, they will head out on the road to face off against Celebration at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
