A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Auburn Riverside's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Diego Flores and his 3.5 sacks.
Despite the loss, Auburn Mountainview still got an impressive performance from Mande 'john' Wanlemvo, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wanlemvo was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 67 yards. Jayshawn Moody got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Auburn Riverside's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.8 points per game. As for Auburn Mountainview, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Auburn Riverside will head out on the road to face off against Auburn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Auburn is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. As for Auburn Mountainview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tahoma at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tahoma will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
