The Clinton Redskins will face off against the Tecumseh Indians at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Clinton will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Clinton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Hillsdale get on the board and left with a 19-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Redskins, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Ashlynn Benschoter made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kylinn Long was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Mya Popkey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Clinton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Tecumseh and Whiteford, and Tecumseh kept the tradition alive. The Indians came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bobcats on Monday, sneaking past 2-0.
The result came thanks to KENNDAI FULTON's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on MAYA JUOZAPAITIS, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. LONDON LANDINI also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Clinton's record is now 10-3. As for Tecumseh, their record now sits at 6-2.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Clinton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Tecumseh struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
