Uwharrie Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emory Johnson out in front who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Staples, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Trinity saw an underclassman step up: Mya Hooke(r) scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. Those six blocks set a new season-high mark for her.
Uwharrie Charter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Trinity, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Uwharrie Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Randleman at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Randleman is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Trinity, they will head out on the road to face off against Providence Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Grove is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
