The Pender Pendragons stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 66-26 victory over Tri County Northeast. Pender's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Pender's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Wegner led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Wegner has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Madalyn Dolliver was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Pender pushed their record up to 17-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road. As for Tri County Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Pender will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Guardian Angels Central Catholic on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Guardian Angels Central Catholic is ranked ninth, while Pender is ranked tenth). Tri County Northeast will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bancroft-Rosalie at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
