The Papillion-LaVista South Titans will square off against the Omaha Westside Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Papillion-LaVista South is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Papillion-LaVista on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Papillion-LaVista South came up short against Papillion-LaVista, falling 61-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Titans have suffered against the Monarchs since January 11, 2019.

Despite the loss, Papillion-LaVista South saw an underclassman step up: freshman Maizey Macke went 6 for 14 on her way to 17 points and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Macke has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Medeck, who posted nine points.
Meanwhile, Omaha Westside won against Marian on Thursday with 60 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Omaha Westside walked away with a 60-47 victory over Lincoln Southwest. The win was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on three straight.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Himayajo Metoyer and Kaytee Irons-Buettner. Metoyer had a solid game and went 5 of 8 on her way to 17 points. Meanwhile, Irons-Buettner did her best for the losing side, putting up 16 points in addition to six boards and six steals.
Omaha Westside's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Papillion-LaVista South has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Omaha Westside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
