On Friday St. Edward take on Santee at 2:30 PM. St. Edward don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
After a dominant victory in their game two weeks ago, St. Edward were humbled last Thursday. They took a serious blow against Spalding Academy, falling 32-79. St. Edward got a solid performance out of senior Lucien Ruby, who rushed for 254 yards and 4 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. This marked the 4th contest in which Ruby has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, Santee have had to suffer through a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything came up roses for them against Elba as the squad secured a 66-31 victory. Santee were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
St. Edward took the match and then some with a 48-7 victory the last time the two teams met over Santee. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Edward since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
