Volleyball Recap: Almeta Crawford Gets Their First 'W'

Almeta Crawford saw some tournament action on Thursday. They snuck past the Goose Creek Memorial Patriots with a 2-1 win.

Goose Creek Memorial's loss came despite strong showings from Brooke Thomas and Carinne Bouie. Thomas had nine kills, six digs, and three aces, while Bouie had 16 kills, eight digs, and two aces. Another player making a difference was Janelle Burch, who had 13 digs and five kills.

Almeta Crawford's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they have been struggling for a while as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Almeta Crawford will welcome Fort Bend Marshall at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Dobie on the 27th.
