Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Ramona). They put the hurt on the Vista Panthers with a sharp  11-4 victory on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous   matchup.
 Taeya Kitchen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  seven innings while giving up  four earned runs off   five  hits. Kitchen was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with four  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Kayla Gibson and  Lilia Ramos did most of the damage at the plate:  Gibson  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3, while  Ramos  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those  two  runs gave  Gibson a new career-high.  Evie Brown was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Ramona has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-9-1 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Vista, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the  defeat, which was their 11th straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Looking ahead, Ramona will host Helix  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 9.8  runs per game this season. As for Vista, they are taking a road trip to  square off against Chula Vista  at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday.
