The Tribe W Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Lifegate Christian, falling 57-26. Tribe W has struggled against Lifegate Christian recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Lifegate Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elena Mendez, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Mendez scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anelyna Cavazos, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
Tribe W has not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Lifegate Christian, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-1.
Tribe W is on the road again on Thursday and plays Valor Preparatory Academy at 11:00 a.m. on February 15th. Valor Preparatory Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Tribe W surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lifegate Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Founders Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Founders Classical Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
