Baseball Recap: Overton Wins Going Away Against Cane Ridge

Overton barely beat Cane Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Ravens with a sharp 11-1 victory on Sunday. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Will Livingston made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jackson Bennett was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Miller Bowen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Overton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Overton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Cane Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17-1.

Looking ahead, Overton will head out to face off against Hillsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Burros will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. Cane Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
