The Walthill Blujays are still undefeated this season after their matchup against the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers on Tuesday, but the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers came as close as anyone has to beating them. Walthill narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Bancroft-Rosalie 75-72. Given Walthill's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Bancroft-Rosalie is ranked 148th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Walthill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keesan Kaaihue, who scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Phillips, who scored 16 points.
Walthill's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walthill will stay at home for another game and welcome Siouxland Christian on December 14th. Siouxland Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Bancroft-Rosalie will be home for the holidays to greet West Monona on Friday.
