Nordonia and Twinsburg are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2021, but not for long. The Knights will host the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nordonia is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Nordonia and North Royalton have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Knights blew past the Bears 3-0.
Nordonia never let North Royalton on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19, 25-19.
Nordonia can attribute much of their success to Victoria Intas, who had 12 digs and one assist. Avery Palinkas also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Meanwhile, Twinsburg beat Solon 3-1 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Comets: they've now won six in a row.
In the three sets Twinsburg was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-15, 20-25, 25-10.
Twinsburg's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Nordonia, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Nordonia has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 12.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Twinsburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
