The Normal West Wildcats will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Richwoods Knights at 7:00 p.m. on November 30th. Hopefully Normal West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday.
Last Monday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Normal West had to settle for a 57-54 loss against Normal Community. While losing is never fun, Normal West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Normal Community is ranked 70th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nate Moore, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Camron Dunson-Riggs was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, even though Champaign Central scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Richwoods still came out on top. Richwoods enjoyed a cozy 76-58 victory over Champaign Central. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Richwoods.
Their wins bumped Normal West to 2-2 and Normal Community to 4-0.
Normal West skirted past Richwoods 59-56 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Normal West since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
