Sharyland fell 70-61 to St. Stephen's Episcopal on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Sharyland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 963rd, while St. Stephen's Episcopal is ranked 386th).
St. Stephen's Episcopal's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Will Gasink led the charge by scoring 27 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Gasink has scored at least 25% of St. Stephen's Episcopal's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Dugan, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Sharyland's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Sharyland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Vela at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. St. Stephen's Episcopal is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Burnet at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th.
