Volleyball Recap: Back of the Yards College Prep Takes a Loss

Back of the Yards College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Victoria Soto Wolves. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Back of the Yards College Prep was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15.

Evelyna Perez paced Back of the Yards College Prep's offense, picking up three kills. Perez got some help from Paola Diaz and her five assists. Perez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Back of the Yards College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Victoria Soto, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.

Back of the Yards College Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Little Village on the 9th. As for Victoria Soto, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Catalyst-Maria on the 10th.
