Lake Buena Vista scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 77-62 win over Tohopekaliga. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lake Buena Vista.
Lake Buena Vista got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Travis Ligene out in front who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Bryan Mwangovya was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.
Meanwhile, Boone had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Tohopekaliga with a sharp 85-63 victory on Tuesday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Boone just coasted through the last quarter.
It was another big night for Cheo James, who scored 31 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Summer, who scored nine points.
Lake Buena Vista's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-15. As for Boone, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Thursday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Lake Buena Vista have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 39.3% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Boone struggles in that department as they've made 45.6% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
