The Prairie Ridge Wolves will take on the Stevenson Patriots at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Prairie Ridge's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Stevenson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
While Prairie Ridge's victory against Grayslake Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Rams on Thursday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Prairie Ridge got a great performance from Owen Satterlee as he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Satterlee has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Prairie Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Pollasky, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stevenson). They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over Farragut on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Patriots as they're now sitting on four straight.
Cooper Harris tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryan Harris, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. He has become a key player for Stevenson: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one home run, but 2-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jordan Levine, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Stevenson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.
Prairie Ridge's win bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for Stevenson, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Prairie Ridge has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Stevenson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Prairie Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Stevenson when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
