Having just played yesterday, the Fivay Falcons will get right back to it and host the IMG Academy Silver Ascenders at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard on Friday.
Fivay took a 25-point defeat the last time they faced off against Weeki Wachee, but they managed to turn things around on Thursday. Fivay narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Weeki Wachee 66-63. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Fivay has posted yet this season.
Fivay relied on the efforts of Dominick Walsh, who scored 11 points along with eight assists and two steals, and Jose Morales, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morales has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jamarian Miller, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to IMG Academy Silver, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They fell just short of Immokalee by a score of 96-94.
The victory got Fivay back to even at 9-9. As for IMG Academy Silver, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
