Basile had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They came out on top against the Comeaux Spartans by a score of 40-32. While the Bearcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Basile pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Comeaux, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Basile and St. Joseph's - Plaucheville will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Basile is facing St. Joseph's - Plaucheville at the right time seeing as St. Joseph's - Plaucheville is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Comeaux, they will square off against Catholic - N.I. at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Catholic - N.I. has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
