It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Fairfield ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Armijo and snuck past 33-30. The victory was some much needed relief for Fairfield as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Fairfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josh Tucker led the charge by picking up 70 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Smith, who threw for 121 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Rio Americano was the victim of a tough 48-26 defeat at the hands of Sacramento on Saturday.
Fairfield's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Rio Americano, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
