Kaden Kott Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Manistee's Kaden Kott, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Kott rushed for 189 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023. His longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Manistee has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. Kott will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Shelby on Friday.

Cameron Gunsell Delivers Electric Effort Vs Manistee
Cameron Gunsell was instrumental in extending Ludington's winning streak to four on Friday. Manistee had no answer to Gunsell as he rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. Gunsell's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.
This season, Gunsell has thrown 16 touchdowns while averaging 175.3 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 7.5 passing yards per game.

Trevor Haag Makes It Two for Manistee
The second Manistee player making an appearance here is Trevor Haag, and for good reason. He rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown.
For the year, Haag has run in 2 touchdowns while averaging 31.5 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 5.25 rushing yards per game.
Gamescore: 25.38
Montague had to settle for second on Friday, but Fletcher Thommen sure wasn't going down easily. Thommen turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up 22 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Montague is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. Thommen and Montague will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fremont at 7:00 p.m.

Another Manistee player making an appearance on this list is Landin Sowa. He rushed for 63 yards on only eight carries.
