After each having a week off, The Putnam County Midgets and the Westran Hornets will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Putnam County is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Two weeks ago, Putnam County earned a 14-7 victory over Polo. The win was just what Putnam County needed coming off of a 42-20 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Westran put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Salisbury as Westran made off with a 35-14 victory. Westran pushed the score to 35-8 by the end of the third, a deficit Salisbury cut but never quite recovered from.
Westran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Korbin Perry, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown. Westran also got a significant boost from Jack Harlan, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
Putnam County's win pushed their record up to 2-7, while Westran's bumped their own up to the opposite: 7-2.
Putnam County came up short against Westran when the teams last played back in September, falling 24-14. Can Putnam County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
