Despite the loss, Commerce still got an impressive performance from Essien Lockleer, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points along with five assists and five steals. Lockleer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Peters, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Commerce smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Kolby Watson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Banks County, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. Caden Watson was another key player, going 7 for 11 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.
Commerce's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8. As for Banks County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Rabun County the next time they take the court. Commerce will host Rabun County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Banks County will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
