The Windham Bombers are on the road again on Monday and plays the Rootstown Rovers at 6:30 p.m. on February 12th. Windham will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 600th, while Rootstown is ranked 98th).
Last Wednesday, Windham took a serious blow against Grand Valley, falling 54-26. Windham has not had much luck with Grand Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Rootstown can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Garfield 57-19 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Rootstown who now have five in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rootstown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nadia Lough, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Bittecuffer, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Windham's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Rootstown, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Windham was dealt a bruising 48-12 loss at the hands of Rootstown in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Windham avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
