The Miami Christian Victors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Westwood Christian 79-73. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Wednesday (55), Miami Christian still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Miami Christian still got an impressive performance from Sebastian Gonzalez, who shot 5-for-11 from long range and dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Gonzalez hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Christopher Ramos, who scored ten points along with six assists and two steals.
Westwood Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Taylor out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. Jermaine Agyeman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds.
Miami Christian's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Westwood Christian, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miami Christian on the road again on Monday and play against Westminster Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Westwood Christian, they will face off against Reagan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
