Training Center Christian waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 55-36 win over The Daniel Academy. Training Center Christian pushed the score to 42-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.
Training Center Christian found their leader in underclassman Creed Lopez, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Lopez is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Bryan, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Jesse Yap and Chi Chi O certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Yap scored ten points along with six steals and two blocks, while O scored four points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks. It was the first time this season that Yap posted two or more blocks. Chris W was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Training Center Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for The Daniel Academy, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5.
Training Center Christian will take on the at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frontier STEM is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for The Daniel Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Ridge Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Missouri (the Warriors are ranked 136th, while the Lions are ranked 400th).
