Wasatch is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Maple Mountain, who was ranked first at the time (Wasatch was ranked 12th). The Wasps came up short against the Golden Eagles on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Wasps were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Cedar Valley posted their closest win since March 11th on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Timpanogos, sneaking past 3-2.
Cedar Valley was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 27-25, 22-25, 25-16, 15-11.
Cedar Valley's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-8. As for Wasatch, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 13-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Wasatch has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Cedar Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
