The Providence School Stallions will venture away from home to take on the Bishop Snyder Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Providence School: 2.3, Bishop Snyder: 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Providence School is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest victory since April 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They blew past DeLand 6-0.
The result came thanks to Ryan Walls's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Providence School got a big performance out of Luke Manderson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Brody Kraft also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Bishop Snyder put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Tocoi Creek by a score of 8-3.
Jack Rauch tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cody Boshell, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Tanner Upton was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Bishop Snyder's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Providence School, their record now sits at 4-2.
Providence School came up short against Bishop Snyder in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 3-0. Can Providence School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
