While losing is never fun, Statesville Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while Liberty Preparatory Christian is ranked 250th).
Meanwhile, University Christian entered their tilt with Lake Lure Classical Academy with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. University Christian took their contest at home two weeks ago with ease, bagging a 46-11 win over Lake Lure Classical Academy. University Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 35 points or more this season.
Statesville Christian's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for University Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Statesville Christian lost to University Christian on the road by a decisive 38-21 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2023.
