Mesilla Valley Christian School is 2-8 against Cloudcroft since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cloudcroft Bears at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Mesilla Valley Christian School is ranked 28th, while Cloudcroft is ranked 38th).
Mesilla Valley Christian School's game on Saturday was all tied up 16-16 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 39-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cobre.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nevaeh Benjamin, who scored 18 points. The match was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katey Black, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Cloudcroft strolled past Carrizozo with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 39-25. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cloudcroft.
The losses dropped Mesilla Valley Christian School to 1-2 and Cobre to 2-2.
Mesilla Valley Christian School strolled past Cloudcroft when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 45-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mesilla Valley Christian School since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
