The Collins Titans will face off against the Eastern Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Collins earned a 5-1 win over Christian Educational Consortium.
Collins got a great performance from Preston Miller as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Collins saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Poole, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Poole has snagged this season.
Meanwhile, Eastern waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Chargers. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly three runs.
Matt Collier made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Collier was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hudson Overstreet, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI. EJ Eggen was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI.
Eastern always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bullitt East only posted an OBP of .389.
Collins' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Eastern, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
