The Sugar-Salem Diggers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Snake River Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sugar-Salem is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Sugar-Salem made easy work of Jerome and carried off an 11-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Diggers.

Ashlyn Harris made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Harris was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kenadee Birch, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Allie Christensen, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Snake River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Malad, falling 21-0. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 21 runs.
Sugar-Salem now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Snake River, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Sugar-Salem's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. Sugar-Salem has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Snake River, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Sugar-Salem continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Sugar-Salem's way against Snake River when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Sugar-Salem made off with a 20-7 win. Does Sugar-Salem have another victory up their sleeve, or will Snake River turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
