A 25-point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter didn't slow down
Frankfort (Ky.) as it put 13 more points on the scoreboard to secure its victory over Paris (Ky.) 38-0.
After taking the lead on a
Jalen Washington touchdown pass to
Dre Scott in the second quarter, the Panthers led 12-0 at the half.
Frankfort expanded its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. FHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Chris Hawkins.
The Panthers' most effective player was Washington. The sophomore threw one touchdown, ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
Coming into the game Frankfort had allowed 24.0 points per game this year.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 56-0 win for FHS.
With the win the Panthers extended their winning streak to three games.
In a 1A District 3 game next week Paris (3-4) takes on Eminence, and Frankfort (6-1) will go up against Bracken County also in a 1A District 3 game.
