The Central Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 65-39 loss at the hands of Jay. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central in their matchups with Jay: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Central saw an underclassman step up: Carson Baxley scored 14 points along with two steals. Baxley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaden Ellison, who scored 11 points.
Central's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 9-7. As for Jay, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Central will be playing at home against Calvary Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jay, they will head out on the road to face off against Holmes County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
