The Severance Silver Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Skyline on Tuesday as Severance made off with a 57-34 victory. Given Severance's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Skyline is ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Brady Varney, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Jaden Hoffman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Skyline lost, one person who can't be blamed is Talan Starcevich. Despite the final result, he scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Kheng, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Severance is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Skyline, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
