CJ Rittinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on S Wade, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. C Boltenhouse was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Chillicothe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Westfall never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Paint Valley. That four-run margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.
Westfall saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carly Atwood, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Atwood has brought in this season. Another was Adrian Moehl, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Chillicothe's record is now 11-0. As for Westfall, their record now sits at 4-2.
Westfall's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chillicothe has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. It's a different story for Westfall, though, as they've only averaged .346. Will they be able to contain Chillicothe's hitters?
Chillicothe got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Westfall by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
