Softball Recap: P.K. Yonge Has No Trouble Against Cedar Key

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Buchholz, P.K. Yonge was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Cedar Key Sharks. The win continues a trend for the Blue Wave in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won six in a row.

P.K. Yonge got a massive performance out of Makenzie Radford, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave Radford a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alison Sanetz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

P.K. Yonge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

P.K. Yonge's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Cedar Key, their record is now 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. P.K. Yonge will host Union County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar Key, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Key's pitchers better be ready for this one: Eastside has averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
